What is a BGS Black Label?
A BGS 10 whose every subgrade is also perfect — the same number on the slab as a plain BGS 10, sold as a separate, rarer card.
What it means
Beckett grades a card on its parts — its subgrades — as well as overall.
A 10 whose every subgrade is also a 10 is labelled Black Label. The number on the slab is the same as a plain BGS 10; the card sells as a different one.
In SlabScore
- The Black Label is priced as its own market beside the plain BGS 10, and neither ever stands in for the other.
- When 3 or more sold listings titled Black Label sit 3× or more away from the recorded market, the median of those sales is used instead and marked sold comps.
- Only the words Black Label count: a listing titled BGS 10 Pristine is a plain BGS 10.
Your collection opens each card’s Grading Outlook, whose grade picker offers the Black Label as its own choice wherever it has sold.
