What is a grading crossover?
Sending a card already slabbed by one company to another, which re-slabs it only at the same grade or better.
What it means
The card stays in its old slab while the new company looks at it.
If the new company agrees with the grade, it moves the card into its own slab at that grade or better; if it does not, the card comes back in its original slab.
In SlabScore
- Two figures, never one: what you would have if it crosses at the grade it already holds, and what you lose if it does not.
- Both are priced at the grade on the label now; SlabScore does not guess whether it would come back higher.
- Selling fees come off both sides, because you would sell either slab.
- Only CGC is priced. For PSA, TAG, BGS and ACE the crossover terms have not been read, and no ordinary fee is assumed in their place.
